History of Targeted Attacks

Since the onset of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military officials have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.

This latest event follows other notable incidents, for instance:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a device concealed on a scooter was triggered from afar.

While a Ukrainian source earlier connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not officially confirmed as a matter of official stance.

The conflict has witnessed covert operations extending into the center of the Russian capital.

The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be active.
