Barcelona Set to Play Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
