The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Advice from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance

Emerging athlete getting ready for major competition

The rising star maintains substantial social media following

Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile supporters when she starts her LPGA debut later this week.

This teenage golfer, who is related to a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika competition in Florida.

Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns several courses worldwide and regularly plays against Kai.

"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play tight competitions," she revealed.

She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."

"He practically suggested to play and enjoy myself," she continued.

"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, so he's quite busy."

Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments in 2024 and has ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

But she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He represents the best player worldwide," the young golfer said.

"Furthermore, he's a superior individual. He advised me to go out there, relax, and go with whatever happens."

Kai will face some of the biggest names in women's golf at this tournament, including world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

Officials commented that Kai's presence exposes the sport to wider groups, specifically reaching younger fans.

The social media influencer has substantial online presence and has started a personal fashion and living label.

Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
