Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health follows the boxing community had expressed its support for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
